Humans Suck for Friends

Humans suck for friends. People see you as who you were, and that's who you will always be. People are too arrogant to notice a change in you... "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." ...They poke and prod and when they get in to a place of vulnerability, they exploit your flaws... "Love keeps no record of wrongs." ...It's not that I don't mess up, it's just, I never have to worry about God slamming me for what I should be doing. Jesus is the perfect friend... "but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Don't worry people, I'm not talking about any particular person. This is just, in general, something I've been thinking for a while.

Beauty from Ashes... Literally.

By now, nearly everyone has heard about the volcano in Iceland, known as Eyjafjallajökull... Pronunciation please? It was estimated that the eruption pumped 150,000 tons of CO2 into the air in one day. Which consequently, was still less than the amount of CO2 that the European aviation industry produces daily. Along with the the sky being darkened by all of the ash, flights anywhere near northern Europe were canceled. Eyjafjallajökull forced countless people out of their homes due to flooding from melted ice. Even through the damage and devastation some good came of it... Like these beautiful pictures! Also, I found some more pictures here.

The Spud Cannon of Awesomeness!

I've been in the process of building this spud gun for a while now and I finally got it done yesterday! It's fueled by propane and ignited by a stun taser. I used a small torch for the handle and valves then melted the plastics together with a soldering iron. Check out the pics and videos.

$10 Home made VESA mount!

Every year, when it starts to get cold, I move my office into my house so I don't have to heat two buildings. I don't have a desk in my house anymore so I used a small TV stand to set my monitor on, and I sit in a recliner as opposed to my computer chair. The only problem with that is my monitor is three feet from my face. Needless to say, that makes it kind hard to read. To compensate I would just lean forward. That worked fine, for a few minutes. After a while my back started to hurt from being hunched over to look at the monitor. So I made a mount for it using an old cymbal stand, a steel pipe bracket and a pivoting VESA plate from an old LCD. Then, I welded it together. Altogether it cost me about ten bucks.
