Every year, when it starts to get cold, I move my office into my house so I don't have to heat two buildings. I don't have a desk in my house anymore so I used a small TV stand to set my monitor on, and I sit in a recliner as opposed to my computer chair. The only problem with that is my monitor is three feet from my face. Needless to say, that makes it kind hard to read. To compensate I would just lean forward. That worked fine, for a few minutes. After a while my back started to hurt from being hunched over to look at the monitor. So I made a mount for it using an old cymbal stand, a steel pipe bracket and a pivoting VESA plate from an old LCD. Then, I welded it together. Altogether it cost me about ten bucks.
