Now, let me get this straight.....We are going to pass a health care plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president that also hasn't read it and who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes…all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's nearly broke. What could possibly go wrong?

I've been back for almost a week now, and every day I wish I was still in New Orleans. Readjusting is hard. It seems like it was all a dream. I've unintentionally turned my everyday monotony into my reality so that when I do something extraordinary like that it doesn't seem like it actually happened. Looking at the pictures helps me remember that it actually did happen.

Using a friend's laptop, I am writing from New Orleans. Why in the party capital of the US you may ask? Well since I like telling stories... I was at a friend's 19th birthday party and a mutual friend of ours came up to me and asked, "Hey, Ben, you wanna go on a missions trip?" It didn't take me long to decide, yes. I found out that Epic, a youth group from Toledo, were going to New Orleans, working with YWAM, to gut houses. After about four years I thought they were all done with that kind of work. That was the main thing we'd be doing. We took some time to hang out with some kids in the projects, and with some homeless people in the food line. We never try to convert anyone we just love.
