By now, nearly everyone has heard about the volcano in Iceland, known as Eyjafjallajökull... Pronunciation please? It was estimated that the eruption pumped 150,000 tons of CO2 into the air in one day. Which consequently, was still less than the amount of CO2 that the European aviation industry produces daily. Along with the the sky being darkened by all of the ash, flights anywhere near northern Europe were canceled. Eyjafjallajökull forced countless people out of their homes due to flooding from melted ice. Even through the damage and devastation some good came of it... Like these beautiful pictures!
